- Digging. R switches between dig and fill, and you can fill in water. Hold the right button to level the ground.
- Movement. Alt walks, Ctrl crouches, and tapping a direction twice dodges.

- Multiplayer. A Resync button, and joiners can buy land and build their own village.
Removed
- Caves, for now.

0.9.8Statues, VR, shape the land, one world2026-10-13
Fixed on 16 October: the endless digging sound, towns swapping your weapon, the bedroll's slot, the pickaxe and ending a romance. Updated in the afternoon of 15 October: pack models with their own image textures. Updated later on 15 October: hero statues for the four first peoples, easier VR, a settings menu in sections with help on every row, the Classic look and still ice. Earlier on 15 October: shape the land (dig and fill, Terrainy worlds, cliffs, lakes), a sea with a floor, courtship over days, people who speak in their own voice, and much faster big worlds. Multiplayer is much easier to join: a short code, Steam invites, no port forwarding and an update button when versions differ. Lightning strikes are redrawn from the cloud to the ground. Updated on 14 October: kings order ships and guards, lights to set down, forging with quality, people who carry what they work with and speak in their own voice, slower years, and every weapon remodelled. Updated again that evening: the map and 3D agree, finding anyone in town, and far trees and buildings in 3D.
General fixes (16 October)
- Digging sound. The shovel's sound no longer plays for ever. It was the game's held shovel-power sound, which never stops once started as a one-shot.
- Your weapon stays yours. Towns no longer swap a piece of your gear for one from their armory. The body you control is left alone; arms come through the smith, loot and the armory trade as before.
- Bedroll. After a night on the bedroll your weapon's slot is chosen again, so the next click isn't another night and another save.
Fixed on 16 October
- Pickaxe. The pickaxe from a trader or the workbench mines rock and ore.
- Ending it. “It's over between us” works when your partner lives in another realm.
Added in the afternoon of 15 October
- Textures on pack models. A pack model with an image plugged into its material's Base Color is drawn with it, through its UV map: PNG or JPEG, packed into the .glb by Blender's exporter or saved beside it. A textured material keeps its image where the game would recolour it, with the kind's grain left off; light, shadows and the finish still apply. Images of 64 px or less are crisp, bigger ones blended (
"textures": "crisp"or"smooth"in worldfall.json); pixels under half alpha are holes. The pack's card lists every texture it drew. - Fixed: white models on the GPU renderer. Right after the textures update every model (trees, people, your hands) was drawn white on the GPU renderer. The texture sampler now only runs for a pack model that carries an image.
Added later on 15 October
- Statues. Humans, elves, orcs and dwarves each raise their own hero on a round column, with a ruin of its own when pulled down. Every statue is one size now.
- Other peoples' houses. Cats, bees, ghosts and the other peoples now give you land for a house.
- Moving to a new village. When your king founds a new town, a herald asks you first instead of sending you.
- Stuck. Valleys in a Terrainy world shift slowly instead of jumping, and never under a house. If you are held fast, you are eased out.
- Ice. Frozen water is a still white sheet with pale cracks, not open sea.
- VR. Effects match in both eyes and shadows are drawn once for both. Rooms are real 3D in the headset. Point at the wheel to pick, the hotbar is on your wrist, the sticks move a highlight through windows. Menu button: tap for settings, hold for the map. Left-handed mode in F2 > VR.
- Settings. F2 is sorted into sections, and every setting has a small ? that says what it changes.
- Classic. F2 > Graphics > Look: the painterly picture with crisp pixels in the distance and deep blue nights. It replaces the GPU finish row.
- Far creatures. Creatures far away and out of sight are simulated less often while you play in first person (F2 > Graphics > Crowds).
- Fixed: bright ice on the CPU. On the CPU renderer frozen water is drawn bright, as on the GPU, not dark blue-grey.
Added on 15 October
- Flat or Terrainy. the first time you enter a world in first person it asks which land it has. Terrainy carves valleys with the rivers in their beds, ridges, hill terraces, mountain tarns that spill as streams and waterfalls, and sea cliffs under the hills. Flat is the land as before. The answer is kept with the world.
- Dig and fill. a shovel or a pickaxe on the hotbar; hold the left button on the ground to dig, the right to fill (since 0.9.8.9 R switches the left button to fill, and the right levels). A shovel moves soil and sand, a pickaxe rock. Digging gives dirt, sand, stone and ore; filling spends them. Dug earth is raw and greens over days. Dig deep enough and the game's own tile changes, so the map, towns and water agree.
- Cliffs. steep faces show their rock in layers with ledges. A drop of more than two tiles hurts you; everyone slows on a cliff.
- Lakes. a hollow dug above the sea fills with rain over a day or two, spills as a stream with a waterfall at each drop, and fields within three tiles of any water grow a quarter faster.
- Earthshaping. a spell to raise, sink or split the ground at range, a king's reward for great service.
- Rocks and bushes. rocks and ore take the look of the land they lie in, with a rough grain; fruit bushes match their biome and are smaller.
- The sea has a floor. shallows show the sand through clear water, deeper water darkens with depth. Ships heave, pitch and roll on the one sea everyone swims in.
- Courtship over days. a romance meter fills over days of talk and fades when you are away; flirting is an exchange answered gently, boldly, playfully or sincerely, three a day; ask about them and remember what they say; hold Tab for romance, opinion, mood and devotion; new courting quests, then a ring from the workbench and a proposal on one knee.
- Voices. people say their lines in their own voice, made of the game's own talk sounds (F2 > Sound > Voices). Women and children sound their age.
- Young animals. pups, kittens, chicks and a rooster have models of their own.
- Faster in big worlds. a town of 4,700 people went from 11 to about 20 fps in first person with the same picture. Trees stay past 30 tiles; the flat map is held while the 3D god view covers it; F2 > Graphics > World steps.
Added on the evening of 14 October
- The map and 3D agree. Day and night run on the game's map too (F2 > Game > Map night). Houses on the map light their windows only while someone is in and awake, draw curtains at dusk, smoke while someone is home and open the door as people pass.
- Look inside. Zoomed in close on the map, the roof under the mouse fades to show the floor plan and who is in it. Click someone to select them; G takes them over and you wake where they were. Leave a body indoors and the view rises out through the roof.
- People really inside. Everyone in a house has a place there, the same on the map and in 3D: their bed, a seat by the hearth, the table. Near you, people use the door, sit where they sit down, and those with a torch carry its light.
- Finding people. Ask anyone “I'm looking for someone.” for a name. The town hall's ledger lists the town's people.
- Far trees and buildings in 3D. Past the detail distance they are their 3D models instead of the game's sprites (F2 > Graphics > Distance; Low keeps sprites; GPU renderer only).
- Classic finish. Closer to the CPU look, with darker blue nights.
- 3D god view. Faster over big towns. Crowd detail (F2, off by default) animates far people on the graphics card.
- House stairs. No more view jumps going up and down, and fewer invisible walls in rooms.
- Campfires. Walk over the stones and under the pot. Step into the flames and you catch fire.
- Smoke and mist. On the GPU renderer they fade where they meet the ground and trees instead of cutting a hard line.
- Packs. Models made in metres come out the right size, and “fit” scales a model to the one it replaces.
Added earlier on 14 October
- Ships on order. On your town's card on the war map, order transport, trading and fishing ships from the king's purse. A free dock builds them, up to three of each kind per dock.
- Quicker boarding. Soldiers near a ship step aboard at once, and the order bar has a Board button.
- Guards. As king, hold E on someone to order your guards to kill or execute them. Killing a foreigner offends their realm.
- Lights. Set down standing torches, wall torches, lamp posts and braziers anywhere on land (Y, Lights). Each costs supplies from your bag, and they never go out. Towns put up their own lights as they grow.
- Forging. Crafting is a grid with a recipe card: stats against what you wear, what you have and need, and the odds of each quality. Pieces are forged in a queue with hammer blows at the workbench. Each workbench level adds a roll for quality.
- Carried items. People carry what they work with: logs and sheaves on the shoulder, stone and ingots in their arms, sacks over the shoulder. The item on your hotbar is in your hand and goes to your mouth when you eat. The ten work tools are remodelled.
- Voices. People speak in their own voice, by their traits, job, age and mood, and remember you between talks.
- Rivals. You can court someone who already has a partner. The partner gets jealous: first a warning, then a brawl. Being seen costs you standing in town.
- Subspecies. All ten mutation skins and eighteen kinds of egg in 3D. Several creatures fixed, among them the fire spirit, fire slug, bioblob and unicorn.
- Slower years. Three slower speeds in the game's hourglass, and F2 > Game > Years pass.
- Weapons. All 53 held weapons remodelled: crisp forged and cut forms, real metals, one-colour grips, flat butt ends. Mythril glows in its rims and runes, adamantine in crusted lava cracks.
- Fog and effects. The glow of fires, torches and blasts no longer washes the picture in fog.
New
- Join codes. Hosting shows a short code with a Copy button. A friend types it in to join. The code holds your address, so nothing else is needed.
- Steam invites. Steam players join through Steam, with an Invite friends button on the host's card.
- Same network. Worlds hosted on your home network are listed by themselves. Phones and Macs join from this list or with a code.
- Update and join. When two players are on different versions, the older one can update from where they got the mod (Steam Workshop or this site) and restart straight into the world.
- Lightning. A leader feels down from the cloud, then a branching white stroke lands in a blue glow, with sparks and electricity over the ground, two fainter restrikes and a glowing scorch. Far strikes still show as a bright fork.
Changed
- No port forwarding. The host's router port is opened automatically where the router allows it (UPnP).
- Public network warning. The host card warns when Windows treats your network as Public, which blocks others from joining.
- Droppings. Animal droppings are a soft brown coil instead of something that looked like stones.
- Home sizes. Homes no longer wait a day before they grow another size.
Fixed
- A refused player only saw "Connection closed". The restart after syncing mods didn't wait for the game to close.
- Copied gear in multiplayer. A weapon or armour a joiner put away came back in their hand while it was also in their bag.
- Gear lost to other mods. A piece another mod keeps off your hand now stays in your bag instead of vanishing.
- Errors on older WorldBox. On WorldBox older than 0.51 Worldfall now stays off and says how to update, instead of throwing errors every frame. A repeating error is logged once a minute, so the game's console no longer slows the game.
- View scene from inside. Kings couldn't open View scene from inside. It now opens from a house, a ship's cabin or a mine, and you command the battle from there.

0.9.7Faster rooms, storage, sharper weapons2026-10-12
Rooms draw much faster when you face a window, houses you own have storage, your family follows you indoors, and the weapon models are reworked with embers on glowing weapons.
New
- Storage. In a house you own, press E at a chest, crate, barrel or sack to store items and gear. Crafting at home can use what is stored.
- Glowing weapons. Mythril, adamantine and magic weapons in your hands shed embers or sparks, more when you swing.
Changed
- Faster rooms. Facing a window in a house costs far less: about twice the frame rate on a big world.
- Weapon models. Axes, spears, swords, hammers, bows and staffs reworked to match the game's icons more closely, with more detail on every metal.
- Family comes in. Family set to Follow walk into the house after you. A locked door also lets in your household and the house's residents.
- Sleeping. The sleep prompt shows only when you stand at a bed and face it.
Fixed
- Someone who gave you a courting task could be married off by the game while the task ran.
- On Apple Silicon Macs with both the website and Workshop copies installed, the website copy now steps aside for the NeoModLoader one.
- The mod no longer crashes the game while loading on a Mac. 3D sound stays off on macOS, Apple Silicon Macs start at a sharper picture, and the dark blocks and magenta specks around the sun are gone.
- A crash in fmodstudio.dll while sounds started and stopped.
- In the largest human houses, a window in the wall between the main room and the side room showed the street with a room behind it.
- Arrows stuck in a wall, house or tree stayed after it was destroyed. A joining player's power on X did nothing in the host's world.

0.9.6Houses fixed up2026-10-12
Fixes from bug reports on 0.9.5, released on the Steam Workshop only. The website download went from 0.9.5 to 0.9.7, which includes all of these.
Fixed
- Talking and fighting by a house. People near an open door can be talked to and hit again, and prompts no longer flash.
- Walking in and out. No jump in view height at the doorway and no freeze stepping in. Same pace inside as outside.
- Doors. Look at the door: E opens or shuts it at once, hold E to leave.
- No drowning at home. Homes by a river no longer drown you inside.
- Every room reachable. Side rooms of the bigger houses have a doorway, and every stair can be reached.
- Fuller rooms. A fire on every ground floor and more furniture. A gap that showed the sky by the stairwell is closed.
- Houses that change. A tent that grows into a house, or a plot that is built, can be walked into right away.
- Inventory and Character tab. Each stack has its own count; taking a weapon away no longer makes copies.
- Stuck controls. Movement no longer stays locked after a window or talk closes.
- Crashes. On Mac and Linux the game starts safely after a graphics crash. New Light mode at the top of F2 > Graphics.
- Multiplayer (early). Steam and website copies play together on the same version.
0.9.5Houses you live in, a village of your own2026-10-12
Houses are real rooms now, with the people who live there, doors, locks and curtains. Sit, sleep and fight in them. Found and plan your own village, fly a free camera over the world, and play with friends in early multiplayer. Still early and partly untested: multiplayer, VR, the weapon models, controllers and the Steam Deck.
New
- Real rooms. Human houses have rooms the size of the house outside, and the bigger ones have an upstairs. Walk straight in through the door. On the GPU, windows and the open door show the town outside.
- Life at home. The people in a room are the ones the game has inside. Sleepers lie in bed, and the rest sit by the fire or at the table. Doors swing, chimneys smoke, and windows are lit while someone is up.
- Doors and locks. Press E at a door to open or shut it, or walk into it. A locked home opens only to family and the monarch. Lock yours from its Home card.
- Curtains. E at a window draws its curtains. Hold E for every curtain in the room. With every curtain drawn and the door shut, the street can't see what you do.
- Sleep to save. Sleeping in a bed you may use, or in a bedroll outdoors, saves the world. Loading the save puts you back in the same body.
- Fights indoors. Houses are no longer safe: enemies follow you in. Fight in any room with any weapon, and jump in rooms too.
- Sitting and kneeling. Tap P to sit, hold P for poses, or press E on a seat. Sitting by a fire restores stamina faster. Kneeling to your king pleases him.
- Your own village. Y opens town planning. Found a village round a bonfire, place the game's buildings, drag rows of homes along a street and plan walls. Townsfolk carry materials to the plans.
- Building by hand. Strike a site with a hammer to build it. Idle townsfolk come to help.
- Taxes. Rulers are paid the game's taxes once a season. A king sets the rate on the Council page.
- Free flight. F on the map flies a camera anywhere. Hold F in first person to rise out of the body.
- Multiplayer (early). F2 > Multiplayer hosts your world for up to 8 players, with chat, parties and Steam voice. Joining over Steam is untested.
- Action and tool wheels. Hold E for talk, insult, steal, star, take over or hijack. Hold Q for the torch, compass, food or a bandage.
- Torch and compass. Light your torch at a fire and hold it out; rain puts it out. The compass points to your nearest task.
- Quest levels. After ten town quests, put a site of the dead to rest. After fifteen of those, hold the town against a raid. Rewards include traits, weapons with powers and spells.
- Magic page and learned moves. Tab > Magic picks what X casts. Hard quests teach a dodge, a heavy blow, a lunge or a jump attack.
- Faces and regalia. People of the four peoples look like individuals. Human kings, captains, soldiers and guards wear their realm's colours, and town halls fly its flag.
- Weapon models (early). All 44 metal weapons in the game's metals. Mythril and adamantine glow at night.
- Wonders, trees and rocks. Waypoints, spawners, brains and mage towers in 3D. Soft tree crowns, burnt trees that smoulder, and rocks that crack as they are mined and burst when mined out.
- Sun and shadows. On the GPU, the sun follows the seasons, the land casts soft shadows and the moon has phases. Shadow settings, a dark fantasy look, quality presets and a frame counter in F2 > Graphics.
- Workshop packs. F2 > Mods loads packs of models, sounds and text while you play.
- Controllers and the Steam Deck (early). F2 > Controls > Controller. Not yet tried on a real Deck.
- Also: four bigger world sizes, the crown is offered before you're made king, build a boat when stranded, your house on the maps, F1 help, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.
Changed
- News and Council are pages of M, so K and U are gone. Middle click takes over a creature and C pings. F1 lists every key.
- F2 has eight tabs: Graphics, Controls, Game, Sound, VR, Character, Multiplayer and Mods.
- Indoors is quiet, and rain drums on the roof. Creature sounds carry as far as they would for someone standing there.
- One person has three deals a day for you.
- Rooms on the GPU are about as fast as outdoors, and busy towns draw 15-25% faster. New options for very big worlds.
- On Apple Silicon Macs, use the NeoModLoader version.
Fixed
- First person froze for up to two seconds about once a minute.
- The sound engine could crash the game indoors or with 3D sound on.
- First person could end when a building in view turned to ruin.
- Others' arrows and shots passed through houses and walls. Several attackers caused endless parries.
- Bodies blocked doorways and could shut you in a room.
- Kills with the game's spells didn't count for you, and starving counted as blows against you.
- Bands of shadow crawled over walls and roofs, and meteors slid in from the side.
- Many more fixes to towns, the bag, crafting, quests, packs and controls.

New
- VR headsets (early). Play first person through OpenXR (Quest Link or Air Link, SteamVR, Virtual Desktop, Windows Mixed Reality) from F2 > VR. Your arms follow the controllers.

- Towns. Halls and the capital keep in 3D, standing with each town and realm, seasons, and a house plot of your own.
- World. Effects for every biome, darker nights with fireflies, waves on the open sea, and the whole map in view.
- 3D sound. Sounds come from where they happen.
- Sword slicing. A killing blow from a top-tier sword cuts the body in two.
- Walking. People walk with planted feet and look at you. Stairs and roofs can be walked on, and you can climb mountains.
- Languages. Simplified Chinese and Korean.
Changed
- Right click is the guard. The kick is gone.
- The people list moved into the Tab inventory.
- War flags are planted with Shift + right click.
- The GPU renderer is the default.
- Looking up and down tilts the camera instead of stretching the picture.
Fixed
- Enemies could hit you through the walls of a house or mine.
- Harbor piers drained stamina until you drowned.
- Friendly fire off didn't spare your own people.
- Renamed kingdoms and towns kept their old names.
- The creature you control could starve in seconds.
